TWIG hosts recurring events throughout the year and on a monthly basis to support and grow a wood innovation network in BC. Our events are both online and in-person, created for people looking to advance the use of wood and those who want to get informed or inspired about designing with local fibre.
TWIG Monthly (online)
A recurring get-together where we host a featured guest and invite them to tell their story and share the why and how behind what they do. We have two alternative versions of the Monthly that include Pitch Night, where guests can share concepts they have to get feedback from the group, and Knot Another Wood Panel, which is a 4 sided conversation around a specific topic.
Next event April 12, 7-9PM
A 4 sided conversation on CNC technology. Digital fabrication has gained significant traction in the wood products industry in North America in the past 10 years. From a garage woodshop to an automated pre-fab home factory there seems to be a machine for every type of job out there
Wood-First-Wednesday
An in-person get-together on the first Wednesday of each month at a local Vancouver brewery. It's a place to meet up with fellow compadres who are thinking wood-first when it comes to building projects - From design and project management to CNC machining and BIM it's a place to connect and meet others in the industry.
Next event April 6, 5:30-8 PM @ Main Street Brewing 261 E 7th Ave, Vancouver
Following event on May 4th @ East Van Brewing
Knowledge, Product, Connect
Hosted after work on Fridays at Rangate woodworking solutions, this event is focused on peer-to-peer networking and is a space to bring physical products or ideas you're working on to connect in person with people from the TWIG network. Bring a friend, a colleague a neighbour or anyone interested in wood products, design and craftsmanship.
Next event April 1, 5-7 PM @ Rangate HQ, 575 McLean Dr, Vancouver
TWIG Perennial
This yearly event helps TWIG focus its programming and events for its new funding cycle which starts each year in April. The Perennial is aimed at celebrating new growth, deepening our relationships, and finding collective strength through connected action. With this event, we hope to renew, rejuvenate and reimagine a shared vision for the future of forestry BC through inclusion, collaboration and innovation.
May 28 @ CBR Products - Details TBD
