Monthly our list grows and we are meeting new people at our events across BC. We are grateful for those who stay engaged, share our events and keep us informed. This month is busy one in the space of Timber Building Innovation, as February plays host to a a number of events including Buildex and the DFMA workshop. Alongside this, we are excited to bring back Timber Tech Connect with our second edition of this event taking place at Concept Lab.
We ask you that in your journey over this next month you make a contribution to TWIG and our network by mentioning us, our events and mailing list to one person. We know there are more folks out there who really enjoy coming to our events and participating in the dynamic social atmosphere at TWIG.
Coming up in the early spring and summer we have some stuff in the works with Festool to create some demo events for people in Squamish, Vancouver and the island so stay tuned.
Wood-First Wednesday

Wood-First-Wednesday this month will help kick off the DFMA workshop in Vancouver at UBC CAWP. Participants from the DFMA workshop are being invited to WFW to connect with the network before jumping into their 3 day program. This event continues to be a hit in Vancouver as we reached a record attendance and packed Electric Bicycle last month and took over the whole venue.

Sea 2 Sky Wood Network
February 7th, 6:00 - 8:00
TAG Panels, 39619 Galbraith Ave, Squamish, BC
The next Sea 2 Sky event is also the first shop tour hosted in Squamish. TAG Panels will opening up their doors and welcoming you into their shop, showcasing their facilities and their product line. TAG Panels creates custom facility fabricated panels that are step code and Passive House ready.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event.

Timber Tech Connect - Vol 2

Timber Tech Connect offers an up-close look at the latest innovations in timber design and the individuals driving progress in wood-based design, engineering, architecture, and construction. Through these events, our aim is to provide a platform for networking, learning, and exploring the possibilities of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), sustainability and low carbon construction, building systems and the overall methodologies of timber construction
This event will feature a presentation from UBC's Dr. Haibo Feng - Assistant Professor in the Department of Wood Science, and some research presentations from students under Cristiano Loss. Alongside this we will hear updates from Brandon @ Concept Lab on some ideas for moment connected CLT panels that they have been working on with UNBC.
Dr. Haibos presentation will cover the following topics.
