Building off of the connective momentum from the British Columbia Timber Building Tour, participant Will Millard wanted to keep the energy and conversation going. The bus tour hosted by the Center for Advanced Wood Processing showcased leading manufacturers of mass-timber building components, prefabricated energy-efficient homes, and modular building systems fabricators. Attendees bonded over the shared spirit for the use of wood in the manufacture of buildings.

The event is simple. Meet on the first Wednesday of each month at a different venue somewhere in Vancouver (and Victoria, too!). The goal is to have an informal, yet professional mid-week social night over the use of “Wood First” in building applications and projects. It's a place to meet up with fellow compadres working in the various industries that cross over with wood - From design, craft and project management to machining, engineering and BIM. It's a place to network, share stories and strengthen the capacity of the industry to provide innovative wood solutions.
